Commonwealth Bank and Westpac leading the way in mobile banking.

Commonwealth Bank and Westpac achieved top 10 positions in Forrester’s 2017 Global Mobile Banking Functionality Survey that evaluated 53 retail mobile banking services around the world.

CommBank and Westpac where ranked sixth and seventh respectively and the  only banks from Asia Pacific to receive a top 10 ranking. Both banks where recognised for offering an “impressive range” of transactional features, functionality and mobile cross-selling.

The benchmark report published by Forester evaluates factors such as user experience, functionality and the ability to evolve media banking features to meet changing consumer needs. It also involved appraising the services on different scenarios in which a customer was trying to send money to their family without knowing their bank account details and trying to research different interest rate accounts.

The top 10 from the survey are:

  1. BBVA (Spain)
  2. mBank (Poland)
  3. USAA (United States)
  4. CaixaBank (Spain)
  5. CIBC (Canada)
  6. CBA (Australia)
  7. Westpac (Australia)
  8. Bank of America (United States)
  9. Bank Zachodni WBK (Poland)
  10. Garanti (Turkey)

To add to this global ranking CommBank’s mobile banking app was also awarded the number 1 spot in Forrester’s 2017 Australian Mobile Banking Benchmark survey.
