Monthly and Annual capping of Frequent Flyer Credit Card Points

Most Frequent Flyer Credit Cards restrict the number of points you can earn each month by capping the number of points that can be earned by paying for eligible purchases with your card. These points caps tend to be a fixed period of either a month or a year, across which the number of points that you can earn from any credit card spend is restricted. So for example, your credit card provider may cap your points earned per month at 5,000 points, or if the period is based on an annual level, it might be capped at 100,000 Points. In both these situations once you have earned the capped amount of points, any further spend on your card across the period will not earn you any points.
